Floating

I have decided that I am deserting the family and buggering off to Hannah the Narrow Boat for just over a week! The weather has been so rubbish here in the UK that I have not bothered too much with the boat as it's not much fun being cooped up in a 45 x 6.6ft space while it's blowing a gale and pouring with rain!

The great thing is that I can work from anywhere so what better place than a floating office/studio on the Grand Union Canal near Northampton. The only down side is that I won't have my wife Lee aboard to look after me lol. Having said that she will be with me for a couple of days at the start and finish so perhaps only 4 days fending for myself.

I am taking along some of my music gear (only a 49 key midi controller, iPad and Macbook) just in case I get the urge to write some tunes. Of course I will need my laptop anyway to do real work as a Graphic Designer. Just gotta remember to top up my mobile broadband and I am good to go.

There are a few jobs that need doing on the boat such as a bloody good clean and some minor repairs so if work is slack I will get on with some of those. I have a little project I want to do too. My mum picked up an old railway lamp that needs renovating - I was thinking of turning it in to an electric lamp as at the moment it runs on paraffin.

I'll post some pics up as the week goes on - if I survive my own cooking etc!
